A blog on the Sutton Trust talks through an example of research evaluating the effectiveness of teaching assistants in UK schools. As Lee Elliot Major discusses, ensuring research informs policy can be problematic when stakeholders are consulted about its outputs. The work was undertaken by the Sutton Trust and Education Endowment Foundation and presented to some of the 220,000 teaching assistants currently employed in UK schools.
