The National Foundation for Education Research (NFER) is hosting this event as part of the Coalition for Evidence-based Education's (CEBE) seminar series exploring the complex linkages between research and practice. The event will also link in with publication of a new NFER Thinks piece on this topic.
Chaired by Carole Willis, NFER's new CEO, this seminar will provide delegates with the opportunity to explore findings and recommendations from our recent review “Using Evidence in the Classroom: What Works and Why?”

Seminar Programme:
- An update from CEBE on recent activities and achievements with additional contributions from: The Education Media Centre (Sue Littlemore, Chief Executive), Evidence from the Frontline (David Turrell).
- An introduction to the NFER review “Using Evidence in the Classroom: What Works and Why?”
- A facilitated discussion hosted by experts from across the sector on the key messages from the NFER review covering: Systemic issues and solutions; Best practice in knowledge production, transformation and use o The role of teacher-led research and enquiry o The strength of the evidence base around evidence use in schools.
- Feedback session on key points raised and solutions proposed
