The purpose of this highly interactive event is to provide live examples of how evidence from academic research can be used to help real managers think through their problems and help them to make decisions.  Around two weeks before the event, each of four managers will discuss and agree on a specific practice question or problem with each of four researchers* who will then conduct a rapid systematic review for the manager to gather evidence about the question or problem.  The results of the review will be presented, for the first time, by each researcher at the event where the managers will evaluate how and whether the results of the review are likely to help them in their work.  Event participants, both academics and practitioners, will also be involved in this process by helping to identify strengths and weaknesses in the research evidence identified through the review and also by suggesting ways in which the evidence presented in the review may be relevant to the managers’ practice.
